The Rambo Fund is a special fund designed to help the most seriously ill and injured bunnies obtain the medical help they need to survive. Bunnies with medical needs are at the highest risk for euthanasia in shelters. These special rabbits often require ongoing care and extended rehabilitation before they can be adopted.
This fund is named in honor of Rambo, a courageous bunny who was brought to the rescue with life threatening conditions. Rambo was in such a neglected state that he was close to death when he arrived at the New Hanover County Rabbit Rescue of Wilmington. His owner had let the Angora rabbit’s fur get so long and matted that he was barely able to move or even go to the toilet. His story of hope and healing touched people all over the country.
